Yesterday, the people of Gipping Valley spoke clearly, and while this was not the result I had hoped for, I fully respect their decision.

It has been the honour of my life to serve the residents of Gipping Valley for the last five years as your county councillor.

Together, we have achieved so much. We have stood up to protect our community from overdevelopment, worked to improve and increase public transport, and championed the issues that matter most to local people. Throughout my time in office, I have always tried to bring community spirit, dignity, and grace to the position of your county councillor.

Public service is, and always should be, a privilege, one that I have never taken for granted.

I want to thank every resident who placed their trust in me, everyone who supported me, challenged me, and worked alongside me to make Gipping Valley stronger.

I now congratulate my successor, who holds a position of responsibility on behalf of our community, and I wish him nothing but success in the years ahead.

Thank you, Gipping Valley. It has been an honour to serve you.
