Meet Chris

I grew up on the Shotley Peninsula, a place that played a significant role in shaping my values and interests. Raised by my mother alongside my brother, Matt, I developed a strong sense of family and community from an early age. I attended Holbrook High School, where my keen interest in politics and public service started to take root.

Dedication to family values is a cornerstone of my life. I live with my wife, Magdalena and our two children, Jack and Teddy, along with our beloved dog, Sheldon. Our close-knit family setup underscores the importance I place on family and community.

My background, combined with my personal and professional experiences, equips me with a unique perspective on the importance of public service and civic engagement.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and enjoying new experiences that brings us closer together. My commitment to my family and community continues to guide my principles and aspirations.

With over a decade of experience in senior management positions, I have successfully held roles such as Chief Operating Officer and Commercial Director for a thriving software company. My expertise in operational management and commercial strategy has been pivotal in successfully navigating the complexities of local government and politics. Additionally, I have extensive experience collaborating with Members of Parliament to escalate concerns, ensuring that critical issues receive the necessary attention and resolution.

Elected as the County Councillor for Gipping Valley in 2021, I am deeply committed to representing my community and addressing their concerns effectively. In my capacity as Deputy Cabinet Member for SEND at Suffolk County Council, I championed the investment in creating more SEND provision and enhancing staff support, striving to ensure that families received the necessary assistance. In May 2024, I was honoured to join the Cabinet at Suffolk County Council as the Cabinet Member for Transport Strategy, Planning and Waste.

My proactive approach and dedication to public service have established me as a visible and effective local councillor, instilling confidence in the residents I serve and demonstrating my capability to drive meaningful improvements in our community.
