DEMANDING HEALTHCARE PROVISION FOR GIPPING VALLEY

On behalf of the residents of Gipping Valley, I am calling for urgent action to address the critical shortage of healthcare services in our community. Since the closure of the Barham GP surgery in 2021, local residents have been left without adequate medical provision, and the ongoing expansion of housing developments in the area has only exacerbated the problem.

To demonstrate the strength of feeling among our community, we are launching a petition to the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board, demanding the provision of healthcare facilities that meet the needs of our growing population. The growing population in Gipping Valley has placed an unsustainable strain on local healthcare services, and it is clear that without immediate intervention, the situation will worsen.

We are urging the local authorities and the NHS to ensure that future planning consents include provisions for healthcare facilities. It is imperative that the expansion of housing is matched with a corresponding increase in medical services to provide all residents with the care they deserve.

I have been actively working with our Member of Parliament, Patrick Spencer to lobby the NHS for the establishment of a new GP surgery in Gipping Valley. This is a crucial step in addressing the healthcare needs of our community, particularly for older residents who face significant challenges due to limited mobility and the lack of accessible public transport.

The wellbeing of our community depends on ensuring healthcare accessibility, especially for our aging population, many of whom cannot travel long distances for medical appointments. A local GP surgery is essential to providing convenient and timely care, reducing the burden on residents and ensuring their health and safety.

This effort is not only about addressing the immediate healthcare crisis but also about planning responsibly for the future. As our community continues to grow, it is vital that healthcare infrastructure grows with it. By working together with our MP and pushing for the NHS to prioritise this issue, we hope to secure a long-term solution that benefits all residents of Gipping Valley.

We urge everyone in the community to support this petition and join us in demanding the healthcare services we need and deserve.
