Simpler Recycling

On Tuesday, I attended Suffolk County Council Scrutiny to discuss the upcoming "Simpler Recycling" regulation.

This means residents will receive an extra wheelie bin, leading to the following system:

• Grey/Black Bin – General waste

• Brown Bin – Garden waste

• Blue Bin – Metal cans/tins, plastics, cartons & glass

• Green Bin – Paper & card

• Food Caddy – NEW! For food waste, collected weekly

To support these changes, Suffolk County Council is investing millions in upgrading our waste transfer stations and materials recycling facility.

As a result of the above, Mid Suffolk District Council has voted to move to a 3-weekly bin collection schedule starting April 2026.
